Entering My Third Year At University

Huh??? How am I already entering my FINAL year at university? Where did my first and second years even go?! Whaaaat?

Okay, okay. I'm chill now. I just can't believe how fast my life is going. The other day, my friends began doing some research for their dissertations, and that freaked me out. Like, I'm actually doing a dissertation this year, and I need to start it now. I don't feel ready for it!

Because I want my third year at university to be my best year yet, this blog post is going to be about my goals for third year! Then, when/if I graduate, I'll be able to look back and see if I achieved my goals. Let's get to it:

Start Revising For My Exams Earlier
-When it comes to exam revision, I always think of the one quote that a very kind lecturer once told me: "Do little, but often". I applied this to my first and second year exams and achieved First's in the majority of them. This is a great tip so that you get lots of revision done without tiring yourself out. I aim to revise for my exams almost two months before in order to do small amounts of revision each day, and have enough time to learn everything without being exhausted.

Work On My Dissertation Every Day
-As my dissertation is a HUGE project, I need to work on it as much as possible. I'm going to start working on it next week (before I've even started third year) so that I can get it done properly without rushing it or stressing myself out. I can't mess this up!

Spend As Much Time With My Friends As Possible

-After graduation, my friends and I will all go our separate ways. Who knows how often I'll be able to see them after that? My friends have made my time at university amazing, so in third year I aim to make plans with them as much as I can because I know I won't be able to once we graduate.

Make Plans For After Graduation
-I need to make life plans. Will I try to get a job, or will I apply for a postgraduate? Right now, I am adamant that I want to do a specific Master's course; I know which one but whether or not I'll be accepted is a different story. I need back-up plans. I need plans upon plans. I just want a life plan sorted out so that I don't come out of third year and think "oh... what do I do now?".

Take On A New Volunteering Role
-The career that I want to take on requires lots of experience within voluntary and paid positions. No experience? No chance I'm ever getting my dream job. Although I have a few roles on my CV, it's not enough! Alongside third year, I want to take up a new voluntary position in order to help out and be able to get some more experience for my CV. My future self will thank my present self so much for this.

Entering my third year at university is flipping my brain out. It's only just dawned on me that I'm a fully-fledged adult now and the sooner I deal with that, the better. I'm hoping that I can stick to these goals and make third year amazing!

Did you go to/are you currently at university? Do you have similar goals to me? Do you know what the hell you're doing with your life? Let me know in comments!
